Before breaking through as an actor on Broadway in The Caine Mutiny Court Martial, D.B. Sweeney played baseball, worked in construction, drove cabs and cooked in some of America’s finest restaurants. His many stage appearances led to movies and television where he’s played dozens of memorable roles including Shoeless Joe Jackson in Eight Men Out, Doug Dorsey in The Cutting Edge, dim-witted Larry on Two and a Half Men, Travis Walton in Fire in the Sky, and Dish Boggett in the landmark Lonesome Dove miniseries. His most recent film is the acclaimed Haymaker, a love story about a retired Mum Thai fighter and a transgender singer is now available on VOD.

An accomplished Voiceover artist, D.B. was selected by Oprah Winfrey to be the voice of her OWN network at its founding. He’s also been the voice of Bud Light, Lincoln Motor, NFL Network, Major League Baseball, Coca Cola, Buick, John Deere and all 10 seasons of History Channel’s Mountain Men.

For many years D.B. has devoted himself to supporting our Troops and their families. He’s had appearances in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Germany, Italy along with scores of visits at US posts, bases and ships.

He has appeared on Broadway and in theaters around the country, most recently in the acclaimed Williamstown Theater Festival’s production of Under Milkwood. He is a founding board member of the celebrated Blank Theatre in Los Angeles where he appears regularly.
